Not only does global deforestation lessen the amount of carbon absorbed by our fauna, but it also actively releases carbon into the atmosphere. According to the WWF, deforestation releases about a billion tons of carbon into the atmosphere. That alone causes around 10% of our greenhouse gas emissions.

From the time the money reaches our account, it takes around two months until the tree is planted. Between then, we coordinate with our NGO partners from around the world. By carefully planning the proper allocation of funds, we ensure that our reforestation efforts happen where they are needed most. Critical factors include local weather, boots on the ground, the availability of labor, recent deforestation events, and social issues.

Armed with your support and aid, we and our partners populate the Madagascar coast with myriad species of trees, including mangroves. Mangrove trees are one of the most efficient carbon sequestering trees on the planet and planting them leads to benefits that exceed merely carbon capture.
